Visitor Policy
Spartan Rottweilers is dedicated to raising the healthiest puppies for our new puppy owners. For this reason, we have policies regarding the visiting of our puppies:
Our Commitment to Your Puppy’s Health
and Your Peace of Mind
At Spartan Rottweilers, we are dedicated to raising the healthiest puppies for our new puppy owners. We have strict policies regarding visits to our puppies, ensuring their health and safety.
If you want to ensure you’re purchasing a puppy from a reputable breeder and not from a puppy mill or scam (and you absolutely should!), you are welcome to request references, call our vet (who visits regularly for exams), and talk directly to me. You can also read our comprehensive health care guarantee, which is designed to provide you with confidence in knowing you're working with a trusted breeder.
Health Comes First
While many guides suggest visiting breeders and meeting the puppies before you purchase, this is often more for the buyer's peace of mind than for the puppy's health. For your puppy’s protection, we do not allow visits until you come to pick up your puppy. This helps minimize the risk of exposing the puppies to illness or stress. Puppies are very vulnerable, especially in their early stages of life.
We understand that meeting the breeder and seeing the environment in which the puppies are raised is important, so we’re happy to send you regular updates. After your initial deposit, you’ll receive a video every Saturday, showing your puppy’s growth along the way. Additionally, we offer FaceTime calls so you can see your puppy in real-time and ask any questions.
Veterinary Care and Ongoing Updates
We work closely with our vet, who ensures all our puppies receive the proper care and exams. We’re committed to their health and well-being, and we will continue to provide you with updates as your puppy grows, even before they come home with you.
Once you’re ready to take your puppy home, you will receive all necessary health documentation, including a vet health report, vaccination and worming records, and microchip registration details.
Thank you for choosing Spartan Rottweilers. We look forward to helping you bring home a healthy, well-socialized, and happy puppy!
Puppy Safety
At Spartan Rottweilers, the health and safety of our puppies are our top priority. Puppies' immune systems are not fully developed until they are approximately 12 weeks old, making them highly vulnerable to outside pathogens. Common illnesses such as Parvovirus, distemper, and others can easily spread through exposure to contaminated environments. This is why we do not allow visitors until the puppies are ready to go home.
Even a simple visit from someone whose yard may have been exposed to these risks could jeopardize the health of an entire litter, which can result in severe consequences, including the potential loss of the entire litter.
Additionally, if the mother is stressed by unfamiliar people in her environment, it can affect her behavior and the health of the puppies. She may become agitated, putting the puppies at risk if she tries to move suddenly. Stress also impacts the nutritional value of her milk, which can affect the growth and well-being of the puppies. When puppies are stressed, their immune systems become weaker, leaving them more susceptible to illness.
Lastly, every puppy here has an owner waiting eagerly for their new companion. Exposing the puppies to outside influences unnecessarily puts all of the other puppies at risk, potentially delaying or disrupting their futures with their new families.
For these reasons, we have a strict policy in place to protect our puppies. We’re committed to ensuring that they are raised in the safest and healthiest environment possible. Rest assured, we will provide you with regular updates and allow you to connect virtually with your puppy through video calls and pictures until they are ready to go home.
Thank you for understanding the importance of keeping our puppies safe and healthy.
For the Safety of My Family and My Dogs
While I truly understand the desire to meet in person and see where your future puppy is coming from, I must also prioritize the safety and well-being of my family and dogs.
When people contact me by phone or email, they are, at that point, still strangers. I may only have the information they’ve shared, and while I trust most have good intentions, I cannot take chances when it comes to the safety of my home, grandchildren, or animals. Inviting someone I don’t know into my private residence simply isn’t something I can offer.
In addition, raising healthy, well-socialized puppies takes time, energy, and a lot of care. Every extra moment spent hosting visitors is time taken away from my family and from the dogs who depend on me. My family deserves my time, just as much as my dogs do.
That said, I’m committed to being available and transparent throughout this process. I’m happy to speak with you on the phone, Facetime with you and your chosen puppy, send regular photo and video updates, and provide any information or reassurance you need. I will also help arrange pickup or transportation and answer any questions you may have—before and after your puppy goes home.
I’m a real person who deeply cares about her dogs and their future families, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
